"Our Lady means to me my mother, my second mother, because she's really kind, she's humble and she brought Christ into the world for us which is really good because he saved all of us. So for me she's this humble person who just gave herself completely to God; she accepted to carry the Saviour of our world for 9 months, which isn't easy. And I love her for that. And I love the fact we can pray to her. We can tell her: 'Can you please go tell Jesus that I need him. Can you please show me the qualities of a woman. Can you show me how to be a woman in this kind of environment, not being trendy or anything, just be humble and just be yourself really.' And I love that about her, I can relate to her.

John

John, a seminarian with the Mill Hill Missionaries, chose a fellow seminarian as his Man for Others:

"What really spurred my vocation was a fellow Mill Hill seminarian who is now a priest - the way he lives his life is something like living for others. He is truly a lover of God and you can see who is love. And then the lover of man and woman, who God loves. He lives his life for people."

"Our Lady: she's a mother to me, she's a teacher, she's a friend, she's my counsellor, she's my protectrice. She's my advocate because, without her, I don't know what I would have been; without her in my life, I don't think I would have had Jesus in my life. She is always there for me."

"Since I was young, I know I have grown up in a Catholic home, and my mother used to gather us every evening. She made it a routine for us to say the rosary every day .. For me, growing big and moving away from them, it has always remained with me. I know Mary is my mother, I always have that devotion to her, I love her despite everything, and she has seen me and my family through so many things."

"The Virgin Mary is a mother, she is a woman, she is a friend, she is somebody you can trust and she answers prayer, and she can take our prayers to her son anytime."

"Our Lady is an inspiration to us all and a big example to us that we can accept the will of God, whatever He wants us to do."

Father Paul

"Christmas to me is the time of good news, we celebrate the good news. To prepare for Christmas, what I do is I try to look at the life of Christ and see how he was good news to the people he came to save. So that helps me to prepare for Christmas well - it's the good news .. that is Christ."

Totus tuus ego sum et omnia mea tua sunt.
Accipio te in mea omnia. Praebe mihi cor tuum, Maria. - St Louis de Montfort

Blessed John Paul II took his motto Totus Tuus from this quote.

"I am totally yours and all that I have is yours.
I accept you for my all. O Mary, give me your heart.”
